Local veterans honored by DAR

GLADWIN The John Alden Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution chose Veterans Day to honor two Gladwin County men with a Quilt of Valor. The presentation was made at the Gladwin American Legion Post 171 by John Alden member Nancy Pnacek. Both quilts were sewn by her.

GLADWIN The Gladwin City Council met for a regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, November 21, during which, two new council members, two existing members, and a new mayor were all sworn in.

SAGE TOWNSHIP The Gladwin Rural Urban Fire Department was dispatched to 2874 N Bard Rd., in Sage Township for a garage fire on Sunday, November 20. The building was heavily involved when it was discovered.

Gladwin Goodfellows fundraise for annual holiday baskets

GLADWIN The Gladwin Goodfellows have helped needy families throughout the county since the mid 1930s. All donations received go toward the purchase of food items for holiday baskets which will be delivered on December 17. Gladwin Goodfellows asks that you help this year by donating today.

Sacred Heart to open annual Holiday Bazaar in Gladwin

GLADWIN The annual Sacred Heart Holiday Bazaar will take place on November 18 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., and again on November 19 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Gladwin. There will be a stew lunch held on Friday, November 18 from 11 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.

Winter registration available at Mid

HARRISON Registration for winter courses at Mid Michigan College is available now and courses start Monday, January 9. Mid’s courses are scheduled to take place on campus and online.
