Goodfellows fundraise for holiday baskets

The Gladwin Goodfellows have helped needy families throughout the county since the mid 1930s. All donations received go toward the purchase of food items for holiday baskets which will be delivered on December 17. Gladwin Goodfellows asks that you help this year by donating today.

Community Band to play Christmas concert on Sunday

The Gladwin Area Community Band, which made its public debut this past spring, invites the community to its Christmas concert at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 18. The event will be held at the Gladwin High School cafetorium, 1400 N. Spring St. in Gladwin. The concert is free, but donations are welcome!

GLADWIN There will be a spaghetti lunch and dinner benefit held in Gladwin for local teacher Darcy Hite and her family as they battle breast cancer. The benefit will take place from 12-6 p.m. at Pale Blue at the Stone House on Sunday, December 11.

Rhodes resident wins award in state-wide Big Tree Hunt

RHODES Colleen Bock of Rhodes won the prize for the largest tree entered from Gladwin County in ReLeaf Michigan’s Big Tree Hunt. The tree they found is a red oak located in Rhodes, MI, and is 218-inches in circumference.
On Saturday, November 12, this group of American Legion Post 171 members, Boy Scouts of America Troop 779 and Cub Scout Pack 3779 set out to recover flags from the Highland Cemetary before the winter weather sets in.
