The Pepper Mill restaurant in Gladwin had a grand reopening on Monday, May 15. Those who showed up to the event were able to get a view of the entirely renewed interior of the restaurant. The restaurant also features an updated menu. A soft opening was held last week Tuesday and Wednesday, which no doubt helped the business prepare for their opening on Monday. Veterans invited to breakfast at EBC

GLADWIN Emmanuel Baptist Church, located at 3089 Pratt Lake Road, will host its annual Veteran’s Breakfast on Saturday, May 27, 2023, All veterans and their spouses are invited to attend the free pancake and sausage breakfast from 8:30-10 a.m. at the church.

Re/Max River Haven opens downtown location

GLADWIN Re/Max River Haven officially set up a new location in downtown Gladwin as of Tuesday, May 9. This location is an addition to an existing Re/Max location in the Riverwalk Place. The new location was developed to provide a space for the River Haven realtor agents.

Rosati’s Fresh Market opens in old Fruchey’s Market locations

BEAVERTON Last week Thursday (May 11), Fruchey’s Market in Beaverton and on M-30 were closed to prepare for Rosati’s Fresh Market to takeover on May 12. The new business owners have expressed their interest in providing quality foods and more to the surrounding community.
The M-30 Bridge, at the Edenville Dam, will close M-30 for a majority of 2024. In order to use Dale Road for the detour route, the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will be overlaying Dale Road in 2023, from M-30 to M-18. Before that happens, the Gladwin County Road Comission will be wedging/widening/ prepping the existing asphalt. The road will be built up and repaired, prior to the new surface being applied later this summer. Old culverts were beginning to be replaced this past week.

BEAVERTON Plans are now in place for the 2023 Memorial Day commemoration on Monday, May 29. As usual, there will be a parade in Beaverton. Lineup will be at 1 p.m. at the municipal parking lot near the Community Center.
