The latest craze in senior scams is surveys. Thieves want to know our opinions about products and services, and we’re happy to oblige -- especially when there’s a lovely prize for us if we participate. Who wouldn’t want an expensive TV or a vacation just for answering a few survey questions?

GOP to meet at Rivertown Inn August 15

Michigan State University Extension, The Michigan Agricultural Environmental Assurance Program (MAEAP), and the Hileman Family are teaming up to offer a pasture walk at the Hileman Farm in Harrison. The Hileman Farm is a registered Hereford seedstock operation owned by the Hileman family.

Congressional App Challenge now open to Michigan students

Congressman John Moolenaar invites students in Michigan’s Second Congressional District to enter the 2023 Congressional App Challenge. To enter the contest, students can work on their own, or in a group of up to four students, to create an original app of their choosing.

Concert to benefit kids with cancer

On August 19, there will be a concert to benefit kids with cancer held at the Golden Key Campground, 3613 M-30, Gladwin. The event is for all ages and costs $20 per person.

CMDHD Free Food Distribution August 24

AFree Food Distribution will take place at the Central Michigan District Health Department Office located at 103 N. Bowery Ave., in Gladwin, on Thursday, August 24, starting at 10 a.m. All community members are welcome, regardless of income.
