M-30 bridge closing

GLADWIN COUNTY The Wixom Lake Association shared that the M-30 bridge will be closed beginning on Wednesday, October 18, for two weeks to complete the embankment work.

GLADWIN COUNTY The third Annual Al Crawford Scotch Doubles Bowling Fundraiser, to support the Gladwin Area Friends of the Theatre, will take place on Oct. 29 at Meadow Lanes, 430 W. 5th St. Sign up begins at 1 p.m., and bowling starts at 2 p.m. Cost will be $40.

GLADWIN Christmas Kindness searched all over Gladwin County to find a bobber worthy enough to serve as a reminder of the eighth annual Christmas Kindness Fish Fry Fundraiser. The search came to an end when they visited the home of Greg and Laura Allen, of Gladwin.

Gladwin Community Schools to refund $263,000

GLADWIN Gladwin Community Schools will be refunding $263,000 due to a situation with their Headlee Tax. On the school’s L-0429 form, there is a 2011 election that has an expiration date of 2024, the real expiration date for the 2011 election was 2013.

Local man restores fire department statues

GLADWIN Julius Sinischo, a local Gladwin man, was hired to restore three statues for the Gladwin Rural Urban Fire Department, painting them and fixing blemishes they had. Julius began working on the three statues back in July of 2023.
