Beaverton Schools seeks millage renewal on Nov. 7

Beaverton Schools is on the ballot on Nov. 7, and school leaders are working hard to make sure voters understand the stakes. The ballot request is the standard 18-mill nonhomestead operating millage renewal that every school district in the state is required to request every few years.

Car accident in Clare claims two lives

On October 10, at around 6:56 p.m. a vehicle accident involving a gray Chevrolet Impala occurred at the intersection of 5th Street and Maple Street. Preliminary investigation indicate that the vehicle was traveling Eastbound on 5th Street at a high rate of speed.

Toy Drive in memory of Colston Zieroff

There is a toy drive being put on in memory of Colston Zieroff at Cluttered Closets & Boutique, 123 W. Brown St. in Beaverton. You can drop off donations every week, Monday through Friday, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. until December 8.

Sacred Heart Bazaar slated

The Sacred Heart Bazaar will take place on November 17, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and November 18, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Activity Center located at 402 N. Silverleaf Street in Gladwin. A stew luncheon will be on Friday, 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with take-outs available.
