Shelterhouse launches new service for survivors of sexual assault in Gladwin County

GLADWIN COUNTY This winter, Shelterhouse will open a new Sexual Assault Nurse Examination (SANE) suite in Gladwin County, creating access to free and confidential medical care for survivors of sexual assault throughout the region.

Leadership Program members fill backpacks for homeless vets

GLADWIN Four members from the Gladwin County Leadership Program filled backpacks for homeless Veterans in Gladwin County. The group that worked on the project consisted of Wanda McClain, Jessica Jarosiewicz, Harold Day, and Gladwin County Chamber Director Carrie Will.
The City of Gladwin held this year’s Home Decoration Christmas Light Contest. This year’s winners were at (pictured above) 311 Cemetery Street in first place, 512 W. Martin Street in second place, and 1231 Bartlett Street in third place. Honorable mentions were 904 W. Deer Street and 531 Lennon Lane.

HOME DECORATION CHRISTMAS LIGHT CONTEST HELD

Volunteers from the Gladwin Goodfellows distributed food to 100 families on December 16, 2023. The Gladwin Goodfellows have been holding their food distribution event since the 1930’s, with many of the members being the second generation of the original group. The donated food, provided by the community, was purchased locally and was received gratefully by families.

Talisman Healing opens in Gladwin

GLADWIN Anew business, Talisman Healing, has opened in Gladwin County. Owner of the business, Ashley Nickel, hopes to provide her services of energy work to the Northern Michigan, greater Gladwin area.
