The Gladwin Rural Urban Fire Dept. responded to a call around noon on Monday when a Malley Construction dump truck caught fire while parked toward the rear of a property at 895 Chappel Dam Road. The truck had recently been parked and the engine was off when it burst into flames.

A ribbon-cutting on Saturday marked the grand opening of Bazzle Bridal, a family business owned and operated by Amy Jo, Brooklyn and Jenna Bazzle. The shop is located in Downtown Gladwin in the Upper Room above Redeemed Marketplace at 113 W. Cedar Ave. It is open Wednesday-Saturday 11 a.m.-5 p.m.

Robotics teams gear up for competition

BEAVERTONSaturday was almost like Christmas morning for the high school robotics teams at Beaverton and Gladwin.The squads gathered at Beaverton Elementary School to receive the equipment and instructions they will need to build robots for a competition that will be held at the end of February.
