Smoke, fire and sparks were the results when a pair of utility poles snapped after a truck carrying a load of logs snagged the power lines crossing M-61 on the afternoon of Dec. 3.

Traffic was stopped and power was lost Dec. 3 when a truck carrying a load of lumber snagged the power lines over M-61 near James Robertson Drive and dragged them to the ground, splitting poles on both sides of the road and causing small fires on the shoulder.
