GLADWIN Hospice of Gladwin Area will be hosting its annual fundraiser, The “Great Cedar River Duck Race,” during the Gladwin County Arts Festival. The race will be held on July 8, 2023 in the Gladwin City Park at 12:30 p.m. It is the 34th anniversary of this event.

GLADWIN COUNTY On Saurday, June 17, in the parking lot of Christ the King Lutheran Church, there was another Gladwin/Beaverton Community Food Distribution (GBCFD). Almost 19,000 pounds of food from the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan was passed out to 264 households and 621 household members.

DEAR PAW’S CORNER: Yesterday, we had a pretty big thunderstorm roll through. My 8-year-old cat, Sphinx, is normally never afraid of anything. But for the first time, he hid underneath the sofa, and even after the storm passed he stayed underneath the coffee table and wouldn’t come out.
The Gladwin Farmer’s Market, located on North State Street, is open every Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., until October 14. The Farmer’s Market offers a variety of items like wooden furniture, blankets, maple syrup, and fresh herbs. Pictured is the market on June 24.
