GLADWIN COUNTYAll U.S. military and veterans are invited to Cup of Joe, a free gathering where veterans can enjoy coffee, treats, share stories, learn about resources, and connect with fellow vets.It will take place on the first Tuesday of every month, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Registration now open for the second annual Pedal to Pines

MIDLANDRegistration is open for the second annual Pedal to Pines event on Thursday, July 23, 2026 from 6-9 p.m. Little Forks Conservancy and Friends of the Pere Marquette Rail Trail will host a bike ride, guided hike, followed by an ice cream social, courtesy of Cottage Creamery.

Gray fox and red fox comparison: Gray fox (top) and red fox (bottom). Gray foxes are generally smaller than red foxes, with salt-and-pepper gray fur and a black stripe down the tail, and have shorter legs. Unlike red foxes, gray foxes are skilled climbers and can climb trees to escape predators or search for food.
