After trading baskets throughout the first half, the Gladwin girls’ basketball team hit the gas in the third quarter and rode off with a 43-33 victory at Farwell Friday night.

It took awhile for the Gladwin boys’ basketball team to get rolling Thursday night at Clare, but by the end of the game, the Flying G’s were a runaway train on the way to a 62-53 victory.

With a perfect 6-0 record in Jack Pine Conference dual meets, the Gladwin wrestling team headed into Saturday’s conference tournament looking for an outright championship.
Instead, it was a split decision.

Defense was the key for the Beaverton girls’ basketball team last week as the Beavers won three games by keeping the opposition below 30 points each time.
On Friday night at Pinconning, the locals rolled to a 53-21 victory.
