BEAVERTONAfter losing both ends of a Jack Pine Conference doubleheader to Gladwin on May 14, the Beaverton baseball team turned the tables in a non-league contest on Friday, rallying for a 7-6 victory.Caiden Loar walked it off for the Beavers with a runscoring single in the bottom of the seventh.

The Gladwin Junior High School girls traveled to Brethren for the Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) Middle School Regionals on May 21. Scoring points were Liliana Gutierrez, fifth in the 800 meter run, 2:44.64; and fourth in the 1600 meter run, 6:06.69. Olivia Evans, sixth, 14:33.

SANFORDAfter losing Jack Pine Conference dual meets to Shepherd and Clare, the Gladwin girls’ track team appeared to be the third-best team heading into the league meet last Tuesday at Meridian.The Flying G’s put on a show and moved up a notch, finishing second with 159 points.Shepherd won with 184.

GLADWINThe Gladwin Junior High School (GJHS) teams traveled to Brethren to compete in their regional meet on May 21.The boys did quite well finishing as a team in fifth place out of 22 teams.Some team highlights include Connor Ward finishing first in the region in the 70 meter dash.

GLADWINGladwin High School Varsity Baseball is hosting a district baseball tournament and will host Essexville Garber versus Bay City John Glenn at a pre-district game on Tuesday, May 28 at 5 p.m. at Wilmot Field.The winner will play Gladwin on Saturday, June 1 at 10 a.m. The 12 p.m.
