Man seeks support for 1,000 mile bike ride across Michigan

GLADWINMatthew Sparkman was featured in our September 20, 2023 edition of the Gladwin County Record & Beaverton Clarion for riding his bike 566 miles after suffering a life threatening accident, which included the loss of his leg.Sparkman now has plans to ride his bike 1,000 miles around Michigan.

Annual ORV Fun Fest registration available

The 11th annual Gladwin County Orv Fun Fest is slated for August 17, 2024 at the Gladwin Fairgrounds. The event will include a 70 plus mile ride, food, and prizes. The ride will begin with a parade through Gladwin before heading to the trails.

For more than 20 years, Bill Seeney and his family, have camped at River Valley Campground on Bailey Lake Road, and for more than 20 years he has golfed at “The Knob”. On June 8, Bill was golfing with his son, Shawn, when they approached the #9 green.
