FOWLERVILLEAschool record and 12 other teams fell Friday when the Gladwin girls’ track team finished first at the Fowlerville Early Season Open.The Flying G’s topped the charts with 142 points, way ahead of second-place Walled Lake Western with 89.33.

BEAVERTONLast year was the first season of girls’ varsity soccer at Beaverton.As expected, the Beavers struggled.They started gaining traction toward the end of the year and lost each of the last two games by just one goal, but still finished with a record of 0-14.

Hunter safety education classes are offered ahead of spring turkey season or in the fall before the start of firearm deer season.

Beaverton graduate Becca Claypool returned to her hometown Wednesday to sign with the University of Michigan bowling team at Beaverton Bowl. Claypool was a four-time state qualifier and a member of the 2023 team that finished second in the state tournament during her high school career.
