CLAREThe Gladwin Junior High School girls’ track team was at Clare last Tuesday to take on the Pioneers and Pinconning. The Flying G’s beat Pinconning 114-27, but lost to the host Pioneers 136.5-48.5.Placing first for the Flying G’s were Brooklyn Loso, in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 10.

GLADWINIn weather conditions that brought to mind Gordon Lightfoot’s “The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald,” the Gladwin soccer team beat visiting rival Beaverton 3-1 last Tuesday night.“Beaverton came to play,” said Flying G’s coach Chris Pellerito.

FARWELLThe high school golf season finally teed off for Gladwin on Thursday and the Flying G’s were still shaking off the rust after a preseason that was short on practice time.The locals shot 189 and finished seventh in a field of 10 teams at Farwell.
