Jim Vanatta, of Gladwin, had his first hole-in-one of the 2025 season at Devils Knob Golf Course in Harrison. Jim used a 5 iron to put the ball on the green and it then bounced to the hole. Delbert Mahan witnessed the event.

The Linwood Post 239 Class AA American Legion baseball team placed second at the six-team Davenport University Panther Classic Tournament in Grand Rapids this past weekend. finishing with a 2-2 record.In the first pool game, Post 239 lost to Vermont Street Vipers 6-2.

MIDLANDThe Linwood Post 239 Class AA American Legion baseball team played in the 10-team Gabby Mills Tournament in Midland over the weekend and finished with a record of 2-2. Earlier in the week, Post 239 took two games from Big Rapids Rubber Ducks Post 98 at Mt. Pleasant High School on Tuesday.
