Two tough games in two days did not exactly bring out the best in the Gladwin soccer team last week.The Flying G’s were unable to score a goal in losses to Ogemaw Heights on Wednesday and at Saginaw Swan Valley Thursday.Swan Valley scored three quick goal to take charge early.

GLADWINElijah Christensen and Seth Mead were each All-State for the Gladwin boys’ cross country team last fall.The duo helped the Flying G’s finish eighth at the state meet on the heels of a fifthplace finish the year before, but graduation has taken them off the roster and on to college.

LANSINGApril showers bring May flowers, and spring and summer fish stocking bring fall fishing! This spring and summer, the Michigan Department of Natural Resources stocked a total of 18,958,970 fish that weighed more than 331.5 tons and consisted of 10 different species and one hybrid.

GLADWINThe Jack Pine Conference Division 1 championship eluded the Gladwin volleyball team last season and the Flying G’s are heading into this one hoping to get it back.“We were a little disappointed getting second last year,” said Gladwin coach Tony Wetmore.
