GLADWIN The JV ladies of Gladwin basketball took on the Harrison Hornets Thursday night, defeating the Hornets by a wide margin. Gladwin started the game sprinting to a 14-0 lead in the first three minutes, 30 seconds; scoring eight of their first 10 points off steals.

GLADWIN The high-scoring Flying G’s soared to victory over the Pinconning Spartans Friday night for Gladwin’s 2023 Hall of Fame basketball game. Gladwin nearly doubled Pinconning in points, outscoring the Spartans 79-49.

SHEPHERD The lady Beavers of basketball took to the road on Thursday night, traveling long distance down state to Shepherd. The ladies returned home after a seven-point victory over the Blue Jays. The final score was 43-30.

MT. PLEASANT The Gladwin boys freshman basketball team competed in three games last week, playing on Monday, February 6, Wednesday the eighth, and this past Friday. Monday the boys traveled to Mt. Pleasant to square off against Sacred Heart, defeating the Irish 69-40.

BEAVERTON On February 9 Beaverton hosted the 2023 District Championship between Standish Sterling, Pinconning, Gladwin, and themselves. Of the four teams, Beaverton stood the tallest, winning their first team district title since 2018.
