FARWELLAfive-game losing streak came to an abrupt halt Friday night when the Gladwin girls’ basketball team rolled to a 53-26 victory at Farwell.“That was a much-needed pick-me-up for the team,” said Flying G’s coach Nic Taratuta.

GLADWINAn amazing winning steak grew to 19 Thursday night when the Gladwin boys’ basketball team rolled to a 78-51 victory over Farwell in the final home game of the season.The Flying G’s ran off to a 21-11 lead in the first quarter that expanded to 46-25 at the half.

HEMLOCKFor the second week in a row, the Beaverton girls’ basketball team went out looking for trouble on Monday and then continued to be big trouble for its Jack Pine Conference rivals.The action tipped off on Feb. 9 when the Beavers headed to Hemlock and dropped a tough 50-45 decision.
