BEAVERTONButch, himself, didn’t make it to the gym last Tuesday night when the Beaverton boys’ basketball team hosted ancient rival Gladwin in the “Battle for Butch.”He is roughly 623 in dog years and spends his time preserved in a plastic case these days.

MIDLANDHeading into the Jack Pine Crossover Team Challenge Saturday at Valley Lanes, the Gladwin girls’ bowling team was alone atop the league standings in first place with just one loss all season.

STANDISHReaching the finals in six different weight classes helped the Gladwin wrestling team place third at the Jack Pine Conference Tournament Saturday.Nick Brasseur was the only individual champ, winning it all at 285 by pinning opponents from Shepherd, Meridian and then Bullock Creek.
