Members First Credit Union (MCFU) raised $12,000 at the 25th Annual Swinging for Scholarships Golf Outing on July 25, 2023 at Pohl Cat Golf Course in Mt Pleasant. Proceeds from the golf outing will fund scholarships for students attending college or trade school in 2024.

The Linwood American Legion Post 239 Baseball Team finished second in the 2023 Michigan State Tournament held in Blissfield last week. Post 239 finished 3-2 in the tourney, including teams from Blissfield Post 325, Stevensville Post 568, Adrian Post 275, Mt. Pleasant Post 110 and Midland Post 165.
