The Beaverton Junior Varsity Volleyball team traveled to Oscoda on Wednesday, August 30.
The team gave an outstanding performance, beating Oscoda in all three sets: 25-22, 25-17, 25-21.

Number 16 quarterback, Landon Love helped the team gain 14 yards and a first down. Unfortunately for the Fremont Packers, they get a penalty for an illegal shift.

Gladwin Flying G’s get the win against the Harrison Hornets

In week two of the 2023-2024 season the Flying G’s Varsity Football played on their home field against the Harrison Hornets. The Hornets were 1-0 before going against our boys. Now they are 1-1. The Gladwin boys were not going to let them get this win.

Donald Corlew III breaks 63-year-old record

Gladwin’s senior Donald Corlew lll beat a school record after it had been held for 63 years.
On Friday, August 25 the Gladwin Flying G’s played against the Ogemaw Falcons. Corlew gained 301 yards by rushing, receiving the ball. Donald scored four touchdowns just that game alone.

The Beaverton Cross Country team traveled to Ogemaw Heights for the Dwayne Rau Memorial Invitational on Thursday, August 31.
Beaverton men’s team finished third in their division, the top finisher of the 5,000 Meters Quackenbush was Gage Spencer in 21:41.

Gladwin Girls lose to Beal City

On Wednesday, August 30, the Gladwin Junior Varsity volleyball girls traveled to Beal City, unfortunately, they were deprived of a win.
“We had scrimmaged Beal City at the start of the season and handled them fairly easily. They were much improved,” stated JV Head Coach Jane Wetmore.

On Saturday, August 26, the Varsity Soccer team left their home field and traveled to Kent City for a tournament. They won the first game 4-0, leaving everything on the field. “We played well,” stated Coach Dominic Lake.

Al Crawford Scotch Doubles Bowling Fundraiser Oct. 29

The third Annual Al Crawford Scotch Doubles Bowling Fundraiser, to support the Gladwin Area Friends of the Theatre, will take place on Oct. 29 at Meadow Lanes, 430 W. 5th St. Sign up begins at 1 p.m., and bowling starts at 2 p.m. Cost will be $40.
