GRAYLING Gladwin wrestler Tricia Pyrzewski brought home a medal and a milestone from a tournament in Grayling this past weekend. The senior pinned her way through her weight class to win the championship and racked up her 100th career victory along the way.

GLADWIN Nick Taratuta began his varsity coaching career with a pair of games last week and the Gladwin girls’ basketball team certainly made them memorable. The action began on Dec. 5 with a 55-18 victory over visiting Ogemaw Heights.

BEAVERTON Afresh new season tipped off for the Beaverton girls’ basketball team on Dec. 5 and the fresh faces in the lineup led the way to a 37-27 victory over visiting Coleman. “Our freshmen took care of us,” said Beavers coach Jason Hubble.

EVART Two big wins at a tri-meet in Evart on Thursday got the Gladwin wrestling team’s season off to a hot start. Roscommon won a district title last year and was first up for the Flying G’s. Two straight pins put the Bucks ahead 12-0, but Gladwin took charge from that point on and won 60-18.
