There will be a fundraiser to benefit the Gladwin Post 171 and Linwood Post 239 American Legion baseball teams. The event will take place Saturday, February 3 from 5 to 10 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 751 M-18, Gladwin.

The names in the scorebook keep changing, but the Gladwin junior varsity boys’ basketball team has been on a roll.
The Flying G’s ran their record to 8-2 Thursday night with a 36-19 victory at Beaverton that was never in question.

Gladwin junior varsity girls’ hoop team tops rival Beaverton

BEAVERTON
The first half was as close as could be, but the second half belonged to the Gladwin junior varsity girls’ basketball team in a 40-30 victory at Beaverton.
The first quarter ended with the rivals deadlocked 10-10 and the Flying G’s were up just 16-15 at the half.

Friday’s blizzard didn’t do the Gladwin boys’ basketball team any favors.
The storm postponed a much-anticipated showdown with rival Beaverton and a chance to make quick amends for a loss at Pinconning last Wednesday that was anything but inspiring.
