American Legion Baseball fundraiser Feb. 3

GLADWIN There will be a fundraiser to benefit the Gladwin Post 171 and Linwood Post 239 American Legion baseball teams. The event will take place Saturday, February 3 from 5 to 10 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 751 M-18, Gladwin.

GLADWIN COUNTY Gladwin’s girls’ and boys’ basketball teams will each host Coaches Vs. Cancer games next week with a goal of raising $4,000 for the American Cancer Society. The girls’ team will take on Standish on Tuesday night, while the boys’ event will be against Farwell on Thursday.

GLADWIN COUNTY The Gladwin junior varsity boys’ basketball team fell to 10-3 Thursday night after a tough 41-39 loss at Shepherd. Colton Pfenninger scored 18 points for the Flying G’s. Pfenninger had 21 points on Jan. 22 in a 41-16 romp over visiting Marion.
Beaverton’s Ian Krezenski and Gladwin’s Gaven Evans-Ferguson square off at 165 during last Wednesday’s dual meet at Clare. Evans-Ferguson earned a 10-5 decision to help the Flying G’s to a 58-16 victory.
