Veteran honors WWII hero

GLADWINArandom envelope that was part of an antique collection turned into quite a project for Gladwin’s Harry Riopelle.The envelope contained newspaper clippings and personal letters regarding the wartime actions of David Fleming, a Jackson man who served in the Army Air Corps during World War II.

Gladwin veterans receive holiday gift

GLADWINThe Gladwin County Veterans Affairs Office received a donation of $65,790 Saturday during a check presentation at Sugar Springs.
Costumes and decorations livened up the Pratt Lake Association Boat Parade Saturday. The event had been discontinued the past few years, but this year’s elevated lake level and the holiday spirit brought it back with hopes that it will continue annually in the future. SAGE TOWNSHIP

Boat parade makes its return to Pratt Lake

The water level and holiday spirits were up Saturday when about 30 vessels took part in the Pratt Lake Association Boat Parade.“It was great to see the community come together and celebrate the country’s 250th anniversary,” said Pratt Lake Association President Jerry Canze.
