DEAR PAW’S CORNER: My brother is staying with us through the holiday season while he figures out his life. However, he insists on keeping the feeding bowls full for my two dogs, Buster and Charlie. I’ve spoken to him several times already, asking him not to do it.

After a good night’s sleep and letting the dogs out, I sipped coffee and waited for the sun to rise. As “Old Sol” (Latin for sun) began peeking over the horizon, I noticed snow on my outside deck. Within a few minutes, it became apparent that it had snowed by a few inches last night.

To the Editor: Gladwin County Prosecutor Norm Gage is retiring. Having worked in the same courtrooms for almost 30 years, first as defense counsel and now as a Circuit Judge, I got to know Norm well. It is without debate that the prosecutor wields great power in the courtroom.
