On July 12, 1973, a fire in St. Louis, Missouri, at the National Personnel Records Center destroyed between 16 and 18 million military personnel files. My mother’s file was one of those. The files covered the period from pre-World War 1 to 1963.

To the Editor: Gladwin County American Legion Post 171, which is currently established at the North Park building, on the corner of First Street and Anchor Street. The post has leased this building from the Gladwin City Council, for the past three years.

To the Editor: Did you know, that a millage vote can be passed without the approval of the taxpayers? Not only is it possible, but it may have already happened. Let me explain. In my senior year of high school, I registered to vote in order to get extra credit in government class.
