On February 21, Beaverton City Council held a special meeting to consider the letters of interest that were submitted for the open Beaverton City Mayor position. The need for a new mayor came after James Case, who was elected for the position as a result of the November 7, 2023 election, announced that he would be resigning on January 31 due to family medical concerns.
