New bills could limit how much overtime nurses can be asked to work

BY JUSTIN FOX CLAUSENTwo bills have passed the Senate to limit the amount of mandatory overtime hours hospitals can require nurses to work.According to a Senate Fiscal Agency analysis, nurses are not protected by mandatory overtime limitations in ways that most other professions are.

Agold medal for Tayt Wohlschlegel in the shot put was the performance of the day for the Beaverton boys’ track team Friday at the Ogemaw Heights Falcon Invitational.Wohlschlegel won his event with a throw of 39’7.25 and teammate Caleb Warner was fourth at 31’4.75.
