GLADWINThe countdown is on for Gladwin’s Tricia Pyrzewski.The senior will make her fourth trip to the girls’ wrestling state finals this weekend after placing fourth, third and second so far.4-3-2-1? A gold medal is a real possibility.

Gladwin tops Tawas in state hockey tournament debut

Heading into its first varsity season, the Gladwin hockey team knew that two of its biggest games would be against Tawas, a team made up of players the Flying G’s had been battling pretty much since they first laced up their skates.

GLADWINCOUNTY BOYSThe Gladwin junior varsity boys’ basketball team wrapped up an outstanding regular season with a 41-25 victory over visiting rival Beaverton Thursday night.The Flying G’s led 14-8 at the end of the first quarter and then opened up a 28-12 halftime lead that was never in jeopardy.

Gladwin boys seventh grade basketball wind-up season

GLADWINThe Jack Pine Conference finished the season with its annual JPC tournament hosted by Beaverton on Saturday, February 24. Gladwin’s seventh grade team competed in the silver bracket.

Gladwin’s eighth grade boys basketball wrapped up their season on Saturday, Feruary 24, in Shepherd. They went 10-0 in the regular season, winning two nail biters that came down to the last minute against Shepherd. The team went to Shepherd for the Jack Pine Conference Jr.
