Gladwin sweeps up pair of volley victories

HARRISONThe Cedar Cup will be on the line this evening when the Gladwin volleyball team hosts rival Beaverton in the final match of the regular season.The Flying G’s had the match-up in mind last Wednesday when they swept host Harrison 25-15, 25-22, 25-15.

BEAVERTON A fter rolling through its Jack Pine Conference Division 2 rivals with a perfect 5-0 mark, the Beaverton volleyball team ran into some trouble against Division 1 foes and dropped three matches in a row.

BENZONIASeniors Lily Binger and Abby Robinson made the cut Saturday at the Division 2 girls’ cross country regional at Benzie Central and will represent Gladwin at the state meet.Binger came up with a huge race, placing 11th in a time of 19:16.

GJHS Boy’s Cross Country named regional champs

GLADWIN COUNTYThe Gladwin Junior High School Boy’s Cross Country team had an amazing run at Chippewa Hills on Wednesday, October 23, at the zone 7 Regional meet.They were there to show that their 188 miles of running this season was going to pay off.

GLADWINThe Gladwin Junior High School (GJHS) Girls Cross Country team finished their season off at the regional meet at Chippewa Hills Wednesday, October 23.Three of the seven girls earned medals by placing in the top 20 for the large school division.
