GLADWINGladwin’s pair of state meet qualifiers earned First Team All-Conference honors during the Jack Pine Conference girls’ cross country season this fall.Senior Abby Robinson was third overall in the league’s standings with senior Lily Binger fifth.

BAY CITYWhat began as a close game slipped away from the Gladwin hockey team last Wednesday when the Flying G’s fell to 0-2 on the new season with a 6-1 loss to the Bay City Wolves.

BEAVERTONShad Woodruff has replaced Roy Johnston as the head coach of the Beaverton boys’ basketball team and, if all goes according to plan, the more things have changed, the more they will stay the same.

GLADWIN“Guarded optimism” is a good phrase to describe the Gladwin boys’ basketball team’s approach to the upcoming season.“We’ve been an athletic and big team over the years, but we’ve got a lot of guards and a lot of shooting this year,” said Flying G’s coach Mike Verellen.
Myah Hubble had an All-Conference season as a freshman last year and will be back at point guard for Beaverton this season.

GLADWINApenalty box parade broke out toward the end of the second period and Jackson United marched home with a 5-4 victory over the Gladwin hockey team in Saturday night’s season opener.The Flying G’s had only taken two penalties and were holding a 3-2 lead when the revolving door began to swing.
