BEAVERTONAfter going 1-1 in all three Jack Pine Conference events to open the season, the Gladwin boys’ track team brought out the brooms Wednesday and swept up three wins to close out the dual meet portion of the schedule.

HARRISONThe basepaths were busy when the Gladwin softball team ran away with a wild 18-11 victory in the first game of a doubleheader at Harrison last Tuesday.Adree Ritchie led the offense with four hits in five trips with a double.Raegan McCartney and Alexis Farrow each had two hits.

GLADWINSplits were it for the Gladwin baseball team in three doubleheaders.On Friday, the Flying G’s beat Remus Chippewa Hills 9-4 in the first game.Karter Phillips got the win, allowing seven hits and two earned runs in six innings of work. He rang up 10 strikeouts.

Gladwin boys split, Beavers sweep JPC duals

MIDLANDGold medals were hard to find, but the Gladwin boys’ track team managed to score just enough points to beat Ogemaw Heights 80-79 in a Jack Pine Conference dual meet last Wednesday.Bullock Creek hosted the event and beat the Flying G’s 111-51 to leave with a 3-3 record in the JPC standings.
