BEAVERTONJack Pine Conference rivals St. Louis and Pinconning were at Beaverton last Wednesday for the first home track meet on the schedule for the Beavers.On the boys’ side, St. Louis topped the home team 83-42 and Pinconning won 93-43.Gage Spencer ran second in the 1600 in 4:49.

Gladwin golfers sixth at JPC event

GLADWINThe Jack Pine Conference’s golf teams converged on Sugar Springs last Wednesday for a tournament and host Gladwin finished in the middle of the pack in its first meet on its home course.Pinconning won withy a team total of 323, followed by Clare with 340.

Golf outing to benefit veterans

GLADWINThe Gladwin County Veterans’ Relief Fund Golf Outing will be held June 9 at Sugar Springs Golf Course.The annual event helps the Fund provide emergency help for Gladwin County veterans when they cannot get financial aid from other sources or programs.

GJHS girls compete in two away meets

CLAREThe Gladwin Junior High School girls’ track team was at Clare last Tuesday to take on the Pioneers and Pinconning. The Flying G’s beat Pinconning 114-27, but lost to the host Pioneers 136.5-48.5.Placing first for the Flying G’s were Brooklyn Loso, in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 10.
