GLADWINThe 9 a.m. Wednesday morning “Fellas” golf league at Lakeside Golf Course is welcoming new players. This is a great nine hole league with fun days, outings and no need to make up a round if you miss a week – just show up when you can play.It will run April 29 through Sept. 9, 2026.

SANFORDRecords are made to be broken and Gladwin’s Makenzie Price is up to the task.The senior broke her own school record in the shot put on Wednesday and then smashed it again Friday when she finished first at the 42nd Annual Nite Trax Invitational with a throw of 42’8”.

GLADWINSplits were it for the Gladwin baseball team in three doubleheaders.On Friday, the Flying G’s beat Remus Chippewa Hills 9-4 in the first game.Karter Phillips got the win, allowing seven hits and two earned runs in six innings of work. He rang up 10 strikeouts.

MIDLANDThe Gladwin Junior High girls’ track team split two Jack Pine conference dual meets last week at Bullock Creek.The Flying G’s beat Surline 79-69, but lost to the home team 105-57.Breanna Aalderink won the 800 meters with Adalynn Lechner second and Jaidyn Quick third.
