Gladwin Girls lose to Beal City

On Wednesday, August 30, the Gladwin Junior Varsity volleyball girls traveled to Beal City, unfortunately, they were deprived of a win. “We had scrimmaged Beal City at the start of the season and handled them fairly easily. They were much improved,” stated JV Head Coach Jane Wetmore.

GLADWIN On Saturday, August 26, the Varsity Soccer team left their home field and traveled to Kent City for a tournament. They won the first game 4-0, leaving everything on the field. “We played well,” stated Coach Dominic Lake.

GLADWIN COUNTY The third Annual Al Crawford Scotch Doubles Bowling Fundraiser, to support the Gladwin Area Friends of the Theatre, will take place on Oct. 29 at Meadow Lanes, 430 W. 5th St. Sign up begins at 1 p.m., and bowling starts at 2 p.m. Cost will be $40.

GLADWIN Gladwin Varsity Volleyball hit the road and traveled to Ogemaw on Tuesday, August 22, for a tri with Ogemaw and Oscoda, 25-7, 25-8; Oscoda, 25-10; and 25-18, Ogemaw. Chloe Lawrason led with four aces and 19 assists.

GLADWIN COUNTY Mid Michigan College is hosting a tailgate event and scholarship giveaway at the Gladwin versus Harrison varsity football game on Thursday, August 31 in Gladwin. College representatives and current students will be at the field starting at 6 p.m.

GLADWIN On Wednesday, August 23, Gladwin soccer stayed home and ended up putting together a 6-3 win against Ogemaw. “We just worked on them and didn’t give up. Our motor just kept going,” said Coach Dominic Lake.
