GLADWIN The all new Gladwin hockey team will make its debut Friday at 6 p.m. at Gladwin Community Arena. The Flying G’s can hardly wait. “We‘re ecstatic,” said Gladwin coach Bill von Matt.

Skeels end season

GLADWIN Asecond straight Michigan Association of Christian Schools Division II state championship eluded the Skeels soccer team on Nov. 3 when visiting Bridgeport Baptist Academy scored first and held on for a 2-1 semifinal victory.

Harriers compete at MITCA Meet of Champions

On Saturday, November 11, seven local high school cross-country runners competed in the MITCA Meet of Champions at Shepherd high school. Each of them ran some of their best races of the year. Being drafted into the Team Elite race and setting new PR’S were Caleb Palmreuter (15:43.

Bowling For Books Fundraiser Nov. 18

ABowling For Books Fundraiser will take place on November 18, 6 p.m. at Meadow Lanes located at 430 W. 5th Street in Gladwin. Proceeds from the event will provide books for children ages 0-5. It will also feature prizes, a silent auction, bake sale and a 50/50 raffle.

Gladwin spikers avenge loss to Clare en route to district championship

District tournament matchups are determined by a blind draw, which means the championship game is not always the main event. That was the case last week when the Gladwin volleyball team defended its home court and won a Division 2 title.
