BEAVERTON big break.A A quick goal. Another goal.And then one more. Before you knew it, the Beaverton soccer team was leading visiting Gladwin 3-0 and on its way to a 4-1 victory last Tuesday, the first for the Beavers over the Flying G’s in three years of varsity competition in the sport.

CLAREGladwin has a history of down-to-the-wire finishes in boys’ track dual meets with Clare, but it didn’t happen this year as the host Pioneers knocked off the locals 128-35 last Wednesday.

PEWAMOAbig effort up and down the lineup carried the Gladwin girls’ track team to a second place finish Friday at the Pewamo-Westphalia Invitational.Host Pewamo-Westphalia was first with 595 points in the field of eight teams, followed by the locals with 353.5.
