Kenneth Lee Cook
Kenneth Lee Cook, age 89, stepped into the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ June 8, 2026.
Ken was born on Nov. 27, 1936, in Greenwood Township to John and Verena (Stuermer) Cook. He graduated from Harrison High School in the class of 1954. Ken married his high school sweetheart Jean Allen, Oct. 23, 1955. Ken and Jean celebrated 70 years of marriage this past October with their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ken enjoyed over the years farming, putting up hay, cutting firewood, gardening and most of all spending time with his family. Ken was employed for 33 years by Michigan Bell Telephone Company/AT&T. He enjoyed his retirement years flipping houses and helping his kids with projects.
If we had to describe our dad, it would be 1 Corinthians- Chapter 13. This is not the end of our dad’s life, as it will continue through his children, grandchildren and all the great-grandchildren. Dad has laid down a great mantle, we pray all of you will pick up this mantle and be the steady, quiet voice who will pray for their family, their friends and continue his legacy.
Ken was a lifelong member of Highway Tabernacle/ Trinity Christian Life Center, Assemblies of God and faithfully served on the church board for many years. Ken had a very gentle spirit, was thoughtful of others and willing to help others in need. He was a very loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to many.
Left behind to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Jean Cook of 70 years; his two sons and their wives: Michael and Kim Cook of Harrison, MI, Douglas and Raluca Cook of Harrison, MI; his three daughters and their husbands: Carol and Kirk Heier of Kalkaska, MI, Robin and Michael Kruskamp of Clare, MI, and Janine and Tom Simmon of Harrison, MI. Also 14 grandchildren, 30 greatgrandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren, his four sisters: Carol (Norman Jr.) Engel, Ruth Cook, Donna Allen (Dale Walter) and Beverly Cook.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents, John and Verena Cook; his brothers: John Cook and Leslie Cook; his sister, Laurene Stamman; and his granddaughter, Lacey Britton.
We will miss him very much and look forward to God’s promise of being able to see him again someday.
Funeral services for Ken will be held Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 11 a.m. from Trinity Christian Life Center 236 E. Park Street, Harrison, MI 48625, with Pastor Scott Leutz officiating. A time of visitation will take place on Friday, June 26, 2026, from 4-8 p.m. at Clark-Stocking Funeral Chapel and Cremation Service 165 W. Oak Street Harrison, MI 48625. Interment will be at Hillcrest Cemetery, Greenwood Township, Harrison. Memorial Gifts in memory of Ken may be considered to Trinity Christian Life Center.
