Jean Butler
Jean Butler, age 94, peacefully went home to be with the Lord surrounded by the love and memories of her family. Jean was born on February 27, 1932, at home in Hillman, Michigan, to Maggie and William Banks.
Jean was one of nine children, growing up alongside her four sisters and four brothers. She carried the values of family, faith, resilience, and love with her throughout her life and shared them generously with everyone around her.
She is now reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband, Raymond “Cork” Butler; her daughter, Cindy Graves; and her grandson, Jason Walters.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Margaret Sclesky, Raymond Butler, and Tina Oard. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Paul Maxon (Wendy), Jimmy Oard (Samantha), Treven Walters, Derek Sclesky, Kyle Sclesky, and Jake Oard (Tanya). She was also blessed with great-grandchildren Cameron, Nevaeh, Tanner, Azaylia, Remy, and Jackson, along with many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.
Jean’s greatest joy in life was her family. She treasured every gathering, conversation, and memory made with those she loved. She also enjoyed trips to the casino, road trips, and the simple happiness of spending time with family and friends. Her warmth, strength, humor, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Memorial services for Jean will take place at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at Ware Smith Woolever Funeral Home. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the family or a charity of the donor’s choosing.
The family would like to thank everyone for the love, prayers, and support shown during this difficult time.
