BEAVERTON The Little Cedar Cattle Company out of Beaverton brought their bull, Little Cedar WF Lookout 2160, to the 2022 North American International Livestock Show where he was named Grand Champion Shorthorn Bull, and then Supreme Champion.

DAR honors Gladwin County Good Citizens

GLADWIN COUNTY The John Alden Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) held a Good Citizen Recognition for ten high school seniors on November 11 at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Midland. Two students who received this honor were from Gladwin County.

Gladwin Area Community Band plans Christmas concert

GLADWIN The Gladwin Area Community Band, which made its public debut this past spring, invites the community to its Christmas concert at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 18. The event will be held at the Gladwin High School cafetorium, 1400 N. Spring St. in Gladwin.

Reminder: renew your dog license

GLADWIN COUNTY Per Michigan’s State Dog law of 1919, all dogs in Gladwin County, over four months old, must have a current rabies certificate and be licensed. Licenses must be renewed annually and are currently available for purchase.

Community food distribution provides updates on upcoming pickup dates

GLADWIN COUNTY There was a Gladwin/Beaverton Community Food Distribution (GBCFD) on Saturday, November 12, in the parking lot of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Gladwin. Over 16,000 pounds of food from the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan was passed out to 269 households and 793 household members.

GLADWIN The 79th annual homemade Sausage/Sauerkraut Supper sponsored by Our Savior Lutheran Church will be held as usual on the evening before opening day for rifle hunters, Monday, November 14 from 4-7 p.m. Last year, the supper was held on Nov. 13 only to avoid being held on a Sunday.
