Gladwin Intermediate School and Gladwin Junior High School cross country runners, grades 5th-8th, recently presented a $500 check to the Gladwin County Animal Shelter. The Gladwin boys and girls cross country program held a walk/run fundraiser on Thursday, October 5.

BEAVERTON Beaverton Schools is on the ballot on Nov. 7, and school leaders are working hard to make sure voters understand the stakes. The ballot request is the standard 18-mill nonhomestead operating millage renewal that every school district in the state is required to request every few years.

LANSING As cities continue to expand, the amount of unused rooftop space grows too. Steven Peck, the founder and president of Green Roofs for Healthy Cities, said that flat roofs are wasted spaces. The organization is an association of the green roof and wall industry.

GLADWIN COUNTY November is National Hospice month. In memory of loved ones, Hospice of Gladwin Area has scheduled its annual Ringing of the Bells. The memorial service will be held at the Gladwin Free Methodist Church located at 1312 N. State Street The service is open to the community.

October 15, 2023 was the 100 year anniversary of the purchase of the Zettel family property at the Gladwin Summer Resorts plat of Pratt Lake. Lot 14, was purchased by Clyde and Helen Zettel for $125 from McClure-Stevens Land Co., October 15,1923.

CTE continues its mission of empowering students with the skills they need to succeed in the workforce. Adding the Diesel Technology program is yet another step towards fulfilling that mission while addressing the growing demand for skilled professionals in the diesel mechanics industry.
