RTLGC benefit event a success

GLADWINOn April 25, 2024, 60 guests attended a Focus on Life Dessert Event Fundraiser sponsored by Right to Life of Gladwin County (RTLGC) which raised $3,798.14, $2,150 from tickets and donations and $2,387 from the silent auction.

Hiring event at Michigan Works!

The Michigan Department of Corrections, St. Louis Area Correctional Facilities, is having a hiring event on June 5, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Michigan Works!, 110 Buckeye Street in Gladwin.They are hiring officers, healthcare and mental health professionals.

On Tuesday, May 14, the Gladwin County Prosecutor, Mark Toaz and the rest of his office hosted a barbecue in the Gladwin County Courthouse parking lot for National Police Week.

You have to love it when a drug company gets nailed for their role in the opioid drug crisis.In this case, our favorite government department, Office of Inspector General for the VA, was involved in bringing down a huge drug manufacturer for distributing a misbranded opioid.

Beaverton Memorial Day Parade May 27

BEAVERTONPlans are now in place for the 2024 Memorial Day commemoration on Monday, May 27. As usual, there will be a parade in Beaverton. Lineup is being moved this year to 1:30 p.m. at the municipal parking lot near the Community Center.
