Hiring event at Michigan Works!

ST. LOUISThe Michigan Department of Corrections, St. Louis Area Correctional Facilities, is having a hiring event on June 5, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Michigan Works!, 110 Buckeye Street in Gladwin.They are hiring officers, healthcare and mental health professionals.

MARSP officers elected May 20

GLADWIN COUNTYTwo new officers were elected for the Gladwin County Chapter of the Michigan Association of School Personnel (MARSP) on May 20. Members elected Darleen Gauci as secretary, and Kevin Brott as treasurer. Reelected were president Pam Sochacki, and vicepresident Rene’e Benser Swanstra.

Car seat check events scheduled

GLADWIN COUNTYIs your child’s car seat properly installed? You can get it checked at a MyMichigan Health free car seat safety check in partnership with the Beaverton and Gladwin Fire Departments. The events are free and include car seat safety checks and assistance in installing car seats.

Beaverton flower planting upcoming

BEAVERTONBeaverton Mayor Ray Nau has invited the community to join him and the Beaverton City Manager, Shannon Sirpilla, in the city’s annual flower planting.Flowers will be planted around the city in large flowerpots and in the ground in some areas.
