Gladwin girls varsity basketball falls to Shepherd in overtime

SHEPHERD Four quarters was not enough to determine a winner Thursday night between the Gladwin Flying G’s and the Shepherd BlueJays, needing an additional eight minutes to declare Shepherd victorious in overtime. The final score, 50-46. The lady G’s had a 20-16 lead entering the second half.

Gladwin keeps the Cedar Cup but loses Butch during a week full of Gladwin vs. Beaverton basketball

  Cross-town rivals collided on multiple occasions last week, renewing the time-honored feud of the Beaverton Beavers and the Gladwin Flying G’s. The lady G’s defended their Cedar Cup against the Beavers in girls basketball and Butch was on the line in boys basketball.

GLADWIN Gladwin’s freshmen basketball team defeated the visiting Harrison Hornets on January 10, 44-19. Gladwin set the tone early, immediately storming the court with a 15-0 run to end the first quarter.

Beaverton girls bowling continues amazing season, boys lose to Meridian

CLARE Gateway Lanes in Clare hosted high school bowling on Saturday. Among the teams that crowded the bowling alley was the Beaverton Beavers and their opponent fellow Jack Pine member the Meridian Mustangs. Both boys and girls teams competed.
