GLADWIN Hockey is a brutal, enduring game. Bodies collide, often against the stiff boards as players fight for the puck. This weekend was no acceptation, the Gladwin Area Community Arena hosting two games for the Bay Area Thunder.

HARRISON Beaverton’s varsity boys basketball picked up their sixth win of the season, defeating Harrison on the road Friday night by a final score of 48-25.

Beaverton girls remain undefeated in Jack Pine bowling while boys fall to 2-3

MT. PLEASANT Beaverton traveled to Mt. Pleasant Saturday afternoon for high school bowling between the Beaverton Beavers and the Pinconning Spartans. The lady Beavers continued to suppress any Jack Pine foes they come across, earning another victory by a score of 28.5 points to 1.5 points.

Gladwin freshman boys basketball delivers beatdown to Shepherd

GLADWIN The freshman boys basketball squad for Gladwin hosted the Shepherd BlueJays this past Friday, defeating the BlueJays in a 47-29 beatdown. In the first quarter the Flying G’s came out strong with Brody Verellen scoring seven first quarter points to help Gladwin to an 11-2 lead.

GLADWIN The Gladwin boys JV basketball team bounced back rather nicely after suffering their first lost of the season last Tuesday to Ogemaw Heights. The boys hosted the Shepherd BlueJays Friday night, defeating the BlueJays 57-47.

HARRISON Beaverton’s boys basketball traveled to Harrison on Friday, kicking the night off with JV competition. The Beavers defeated Harrison, returning home after a 51-26 victory.
