BEAVERTON Registrations are now being accepted for the 30th annual Beaverton Area Business Association (BABA) Golf Tournament, which is slated for Wednesday, June 12. The tournament starts at 8:30 a.m.

Gladwin boys run past JPC rival Clare

HARRISON The long and short of it is that the Gladwin boys’ track team did it all Wednesday in an 83-80 victory over Clare that put the Flying G’s into the driver’s seat in the Jack Pine Conference race. Gladwin won 11 of the 17 events, led by Caleb Palmreuter in the distance races and Jhace Massey in the sprints.

Beaverton baseball team sweeps Oscoda

BEAVERTON It seemed like everything was working Saturday when the Beaverton baseball team swept a doubleheader from visiting Oscoda. Behind the strong pitching of Dakota Knake and Reese Longstreth, the Beavers won the first game 9-3 and then rolled to a 12-0 victory.

Gladwin golfers win tourney in Lake City

LAKE CITY The Gladwin golf team tangled with Northern Michigan Christian, Manton, McBain, Pinconning and Meridian at an invitational at Missaukee Golf Club in Lake City last Monday and came out on top. Aiden McKenna took first overall with a 35.

GJHS Boys’ track place in meets

GLADWIN The Gladwin Junior High School Boys Track (GJHS) team traveled to Farwell on Tuesday, April 23 and competed in their second conference meet of the year. They had a great outing posting high marks, and new personal bests.

PINCONNING The Jack Pine Conference softball season got underway Thursday and things did not go Gladwin’s way as the Flying G’s lost both ends of a doubleheader at Pinconning. Tessa Cameron led off the first game with a home run, but the visiting locals did not score again in a 6-1 setback.
