SANFORDThe road to the Jack Pine Conference girls’ basketball championship has gone straight through Meridian of late.The Mustangs have been dominating the league and went all the way to the Division 3 quarterfinals last season, led by standout Halen McLaughlin and a talented supporting cast.

GLADWINThe first quarter was relatively competitive but, after that, the Gladwin boys’ basketball team was off and running in a 66-29 victory over Clare Friday night.

GLADWINThe first victory of the season was within reach last Tuesday night when the Gladwin girls’ basketball team hosted Pinconning in the school’s annual Coaches Vs. Cancer game, but struggles on offense cost the home team again in a 40-30 loss.
